Ingela began her singing career as a mezzo
soprano,
with roles such as Rosina in 'The Barber in Seville', Cherubin in 'The
Marriage of
Figaro' and the title role in Orlando by Händel. The
soprano debut was as Konstanze in 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail' by Mozart. A sample of parts she has interpreted since then are: the title role in Jenufa by Janáček, Tigrana in the Puccini opera 'Edgar', Amelia in 'Ballo in Maschera' by Verdi, Donna Anna in Mozarts 'Don Giovanni' and the title role in several productions of Tosca (Puccini). She has also made the title role in Verdis Aida, Gutrune (and third Norn) in Wagners 'Götterdämmerung' and the title role in Katja Kabanová by Janáček. During 2010 Ingelas program included Elettra in Mozarts Idomeneo, the title role in Anna Pedersdotter by the Norwegian composer E.F. Brœin, as well as in Puccinis Manon Lescaut. In 2011 Ingela made her debut as Salome (Richard Strauss) and as Valentine in Les Huguenots by Meyerbeer. 2013 Ingela sung the role of Ellen Orford in Britten's Peter Grimes as well as Senta in Wagners the Flying Dutchman and Sieglinde in the Valkyrie. Recently Ingela performed Lady MacBeth in Verdi's MacBeth. Coming roles include Leonore in Beethovens Fidelio, the title role in Strauss Elektra and Female Chorus in Britten's the rape of Lucretia.
Ingela is also a much appreciated concert singer, with
performances in the Stockholm Concert Hall and other places in
Scandinavia. At the Nobel prize banquet 2010 Ingela was invited to sing
a specially composed piece.
