The Demo software including full
manual and help files that you download to your PC or Mac is
identical to the complete program version with one single exception.
The number of document records you are able to enter is limited to 30
in the Demo software.
The download files have been virus tested and found "clean".
The Demo files are provided as single-user. Archive Pro can however
also be configured for multi user mode supporting most Network
Protocols. If you are interested in acquiring a multi user solution,

Important
- before downloading
Print out this Web page using the
Print command in your WEB reader program - Netscape/Explorer (the
program you are currently using). Go to File/Print command for a
printout. A printed instruction is handy when installing the program
onto your hard disk.

If you use Netscape, hold down
the Alt. key as you click on the underlined ArkPro.EXE file below.
The EXE file will then be downloaded to your hard disk in the
destination folder you select.
In Internet Explorer, just click on ArkPro.EXE, then Explorer will
ask you where to save the download file.

Download time: about 15 minutes (28.8 modem)
When the download is finished, open Explorer (the file management
utility in Win 95) and go to the location for the downloaded
ArkPro.EXE file. Double click on ArkPro.EXE. If you have forgotten to
what folder the file was downloaded you can use the "Start/Find files
and folders" utility to locate ArkPro.EXE.
After double clicking on ArkPro.EXE, click on the "Unzip" button.
The ArkPro.EXE file will now unpack. When ready, click on the x sign button in the upper right corner.
A new folder under C:/ named ArkPro has now been created. For the
folder to become visible, you may have to use the Show/update command
in Win 95.
Open the ArkPro folder.
find the file named ArkPro-FMP SDK.EXE.
and create a shortcut for it.
Move the shortcut to the Desktop and rename the shortcut to Archive
Pro.
Double clicking this shortcut will start the Archive Pro application.
When starting Archive Pro for the
first time you may encounter a screen message telling: " The date and
time formats associated with ArkPro.fp3 alt. ArkPro.USR are different
from....Do you wish to use systems settings för data entry ?",
then click the YES button to use system settings.
The program will from then on adapt to the settings of your
computer.
Macintosh
In order to unpack the underlined
ArkPro.sit file below you need the unpacking program Stuffit Expander
on your Macintosh. Stuffit Expander is a freeware that is bundled
with most "WEB packages". So chances are big you already have this
program on your computer.
If you have the decoding program Binhex, you can download it from
many WEB sites, here is one:

After the file named StuffItExpander.hqx has been transferred from
the WEB site, use the Binhex application to decode it (Command in
Binhex: Upload/ Application).
If you don't have Stuffit Expander or Binhex go to this WEB page:

in order to get Stuffit Expander .
If that does not work try consulting your company´s data dept.
or ask a friend having a "WEB package" or send an
email to DobyTec for assistance.
After making sure you have Stuffit
Expander, you can go on downloading ArkPro.sit.
If you use Netscape, hold down the Alt. key as you click on the
underlined ArkPro.sit file below. The file will then be downloaded to
your hard disk in the destination folder you select.
In Internet Explorer, just click on ArkPro.sit, then Explorer will
ask you where to save the download file.

ArkPro.sit is now being transferred to your hard disk
to the folder you specified. A
thermometer symbol will show the transfer progress.
When ready, there are two alternatives depending on how your
Macintosh is configured:
1. The computer will automatically unpack the received file and in
that process create a new folder named ArkPro.
2. No automatic unpacking is taking place.
In the latter case you have to start
your Stuffit Expander program manually. Activate the File/Expand
command and choose the ArkPro.sit file for expansion. Next choose
"Expand into" and select a folder (or the Desktop) as destination for
the expanded files.
The ArkPro.sit file will expand and create a new folder on your hard disk named ArkPro. Move this folder to a place of your choice e.g. the folder where you keep other applications
Open the ArkPro folder.
You will find a file named ArkPro-FMP SDK in the ArkPro folder.
Create an alias for the ArkPro-FMP SDK file.
Move the alias to the Desktop.
Rename the alias on the desktop to
Archive Pro.
Doubleclicking on the Archive Pro alias will start the Archive Pro program.
If you the first time you start the
program get a message: " The date and time formats associated with
ArkPro.fp3 are different from....Do you wish to use systems settings
for data entry?" then click the YES button.
The program will from then on be adapted to the settings of your
computer.

Instruction/Manual
You have two alternatives to read and print the manual for Archive Pro.
Alternative two may be chosen if you
want to get an idea about the program before you decide to download
it. This file is only about 1/2 MB and will take only a few minutes
to download.
You will need to have the free Acrobat Reader program for alternative
two. If you don't already have Acrobat Reader you can download it
from the following URL:

How to open the manual that is
included in the Archive Pro program (alternative 1 above)
Before you open the manual
with your WEB browser program, check that you don't have your
computer configured to automatically dial up Internet when opening
TCP/IP applications (like a WEB browser). On a Macintosh, locate your
PPP settings under Control panels to temporarily disable automatic
dialing. In Windows 95 check the settings in Netscape or Internet
Explorer to see if automatic dialing can be disabled. After printing
the manual you can activate this setting again. If automatic dialing
is activated when reading or printing the manual your modem may
repeatedly try to connect (annoying!).
The Archive Pro application has many built in help functions making
the use of an external manual almost unnecessary during ordinary use.
It is however a good idea to make a "one time only" printout of the
complete program manual before you start using the program. The
manual is a HTML document that you can read and print from your WEB
browser program (Netscape/Explorer).
The manual file is named "Earkpm.htm". You will find this file in the Manual
folder, a sub folder under the ArkPro folder.
Opening/printing the
manual
Start your WEB browser program (Netscape/Explorer). If the browser
tries to find your ordinary Internet start page, click on "Stop" to
terminate. Now choose the File/Open command. The browser program will
display a dialogue window allowing you to choose the file you want to
open. Navigate until you are in the Manual folder (sub folder of the
ArkPro folder). Double click on the "Earkpm.htm" file name.
The manual will now display on screen. Clicking on a subject line
will bring you to the corresponding subject section.
Use the File/Print menu to print the manual.
