RBC Voice Tweaker FAQ

Question list:
Q: Can the Voice Tweaker handle 96 kHz samplerate?
A: Yes, Voice Tweaker can handle any sample rate
between 44.1 and 96 kHz, though is has only been tested with 88.2 and 96 kHz. Note however that the CPU load will increase using 96 kHz not to the double, but four times.
Data rate is approx the double from 44.1 kHz and amount of processed samples will also double, thus the double times double increase.

Q: Is the Voice Tweaker able to read 20 or 24 bit .wav
files ?
A: The Voice Tweaker itself can handle both 16 bit to
24 bit audio data (20 bit is the latter using only 20 out of 24 bits). This is however not a choice of Voice Tweaker but from the sound editing software fromwithin the Voice
Tweaker is used. So if you would use Steinbergs Wavelab software for instance, you could handle 24 bit .wav files. The processing in Voice Tweaker is always 32 bit floats (i.e.
24 bit audio format). Some would argue "why not 64 bit doubles for better quality?". Voice Tweaker's sample handling would actually not benefit from that.

Q: For pitch correction, does it only shift the parts that
need it ?
A: The Voice Tweaker always tries to "snap in" the
frequency to the nearest tone in the selected scale (with reference to A). The speed of this "snapping in" is controlled
by the "Glide" parameter. The "Liveliness" parameter enables you to add some of the original inaccuracies (or vibrato...) to make the result sound more natural.

Q: How do I know what version of Voice Tweaker I have
? And how do I upgrade ?
A: From version V1.01 the version number is shown in
the Uninstall list. You can look at it by going to the Control Panel and then selecting Add/Remove Programs. When you want to upgrade you go to the Control Panel, select
Add/Remove Programs. Then select the list item "RBC Voice Tweaker Vx.xx" and click the Add/Remove button. After the uninstall is finished you can install the newer version as
usual using you installation serial number key.
Another way to see what version you have is to click on the R.Bielik CONSULTING logotype in the property page of RBC Voice Tweaker.

Q: How do I connect a MIDI sequencer to the Voice
Tweaker?
A: This can be done quite easily by installing a MIDI
loopback driver. Such a program enables you to send MIDI data from a sequencer to a "virtual MIDI output". The MIDI events are actually routed back to "virtual MIDI inputs"
which allows you to take another program, in this case Voice Tweaker, and connect it to that virtual MIDI input. One example of such a program is the Hubi MIDI Loopback. You can download it here. See this graph which shows an
example setup with a Hubi MIDI Loopback node:
