Fiberbar has been developed as a steel reinforcement option. The aim was to make a rebar for structures where there is a risk of structural corrosion.

The development of Fiberbar was carried out in cooperation with the Lund Institute of Technology, the Swedish National Road Administration, the Swedish National Rail Administration and Swedish construction companies.

Commercial production and sales started in 1992 and the product has been used as reinforcement in very aggressive environments such as slatted floors in pigsties, structures exposed to de-icing salts used on roads, marine environments, etc.
