Planescape: Torment
Another great role-playing
game from Interplay. You are The Nameless One and you have just
woken up on a bunk inside the local mortuary, without remembering
who you are or how you got there. A hovering skull comes forth
to greet you and you are told that you have a lot of information
tattooed on your back that might be able to help you.
One big difference between
Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate is that talking with people
rather than fighting can most often solve the problems in this
game. Many different dialogue choices can be made and they are
highly affected by who your character is. If you have high intelligence
you'll get additional and more interesting dialogues than a strong
and dumb fighter, who has to use brutal force more often to get
what he wants.
One warning though: Planescape:
Torment is not a game which I can recommend to people who
don't like to read all the information there is about things and/or
is not so good with the English language - the game is more like
an interactive book than a straightforward game were everything
can be solved with violence.
