Black Courtyard
Overlooked by windows of conrad's room and hunters' hall.
The Surrounding walls are decorated in the Neo-Renaissance style.
The wall bearing the coats of arms of the castle's previous loards
is a major tourist attraction. In the middle of the top row is the Piast
eagle of the castle's founder, Duke Bolko I of Swidnica and Jawor.On the
sides are the coats of arms of Bohemian kings from the House of Luxemburg
(on the left) and the Bohemian and Hungarian line of the of the House
of Habsburg (on the right). In the bottom row (left to right)
are the coats of arms of King George of Podebrad, King Matthias Corvinus
of Hungary, the Hochberg family (the castle's last lords), King Vladislav
the Jagiellonean,
and the Austrian branch of the Hapsburgs. Also worthy of attention
is a well
casing with water drawing equipment. |
