The folkmusic realy came
to me when we started the band BARBACKA in 1989 with, among
others, the harmonica player Greger Ottoson. His genuine engagement in the
music also caught me, and the pride over our own heritage grew after all
the appreciation we got touring in Finland and Russia. Musical variety,
discoveries and inspiration is the reward when you listen to folkmusic
from different countries. To give your ears an opportunity to listen to a
new and unfamililar form of music, can make your body leap for joy over
some unexpected experience. The cooperation with Pigs Eye Landing ,USA, started at Åsele foklore-festival 1998. For me it resulted in a trip to the States in october the same year. I played with the group and besides that we prepared a tour in Sweden in the summer of 1999 which we realized. At the same time I met Bruce Molsky since he had a cource in Old-Time Fiddle wich I was fortunate enough to attend. |
