Född i Chorley den 1 december 1967.
Arrived from Bury in July 1992 for a bargain £37,500. Started his
career as a Southampton apprentice but didn't get a first team
chance and a £12,000 cheque took him to Gigg Lane during the
1987-88 season where he played more than 150 games. Played a
major part in Reading's successes of 1994 and 1995. A highly
competitive midfielder, Parky remains ever-popular and was the
runaway winner of the supporters' player of the year in 1997/98
and again last season. Missed the first two months of the 99/00
season through injury sustained in the pre-season.
