THE TRIP DOWN AND THE ISLAND
OF SANTORINI

The first stop on our trip, was the island of Santorini. It was originally a circle shaped volcanically active island until it blew up around 3500 years ago leaving it with the crescent shape it has today (and, incidentally, washing away the Minoan civilisation on Crete with a huge tidal wave). The small island in the center, Nea Kameni, is the newly formed mildly active remains of the volcano. |
