In just three short years, RADISH has become one of the most talked about new groups on the alternative-rock scene. After recording an impressive three-song demo, the band was courted by every major record company in the business before signing to Mercury. For many artists, such an accomplishment would represent the culmination of a lifelong dream, but for 15-year old RADISH singer and songwriter Ben Kweller, it marks the beginning of what seems sure to be a fruitful and rewarding career. But while he's eager to prove how much he has to contribute to the music world, Kweller is a bit wary of being called a child prodigy. "I just hope I don't get eaten alive because of my age. I can't help it that I started writing songs when I was really young," he says. "Sometimes I actually feel bad about it. I just want to go up to a musician that's been around doing the same thing for 15 years -- all my life --just hand them my record deal and say, 'hey man, you deserve it more than me.' But hopefully the age thing won't be a big deal because people will just listen to the music."
