| Around this village there is clay which is exellent for making bricks. This was a large industry in Heby a half decade ago but now there is just one factory left in a neighbour village: Vittinge taktegel. That is by the way the only factory in sweden which makes roofing-tiles. Now we have a museum of that epoc which is in the local railway station. |
| About the same time as the brick industry flowered Heby was an important railway connection point. That vanished with the close of the largest factory. For many years no trains at all stopped in Heby but in the spring of 1997 princess Lillian consecrated the train-stopping. Now several trains go to Uppsala and Sala each day. It is really must faster and more confortable than the bus connections. |
